The backpack power supply 1 includes a case 5, a secondary battery 51 housed in the case 5, an output terminal 5a connected with the secondary battery 51, a switching element 522 located in a current path formed between the secondary battery 51 and the output terminal 5a, a sub-power switch 66 extended from the case 5 so as to direct turn-off of the switching element 522, a battery side microcomputer 526 for turning the switching element 522 off when turn-off of the switching element 522 is directed from the sub-power switch 66, and a main power switch 53 provided in the case 5 and located on the current path closer to the secondary battery 51 side than the switching element 522. The battery side microcomputer 526 is supplied with drive power from a point between the main power switch 53 and the switching element 522 on the current path.
