To provide a vertical type bag making, filling and packing machine which can make use of information on the band width and folding diameter of a band-shaped packaging material or the filling cylinder diameter acquired by input information or measurement information for changing locations required for various devices such as a packaging material feed and guide device, a vertical seal device, and a packaging material feeding device.SOLUTION: As in the case of changing the bag size, when the packaging material is changed to a packaging material of different band width, in response to the information on the band width or the folding diameter of the band-shaped packaging material acquired on the basis of a setting input consisting of a direct input to a control device 10 or a code input, at least one of the positions among a roll support position of a packaging material roll support device 70, an approach and retreat position with respect to the former of a band-shaped packaging material guide device 80, an approach and retreat back position with respect to the filling cylinder of a vertical seal device 54 and an approach and retreat position with respect to packaging material feeding devices 56 and 56, is automatically adjusted to the proper location in correspondence to the band width or the folding diameter of the band-shaped packaging material.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
