Abstract:
To provide a baked vermiculite heat insulating material with excellent pulverization-proof characteristic less producing water content when used at temperatures of 550 to 750°C and a method of manufacturing the baked vermiculite heat insulating material.
This baked vermiculite heat insulating material with excellent pulverization-proof characteristic is characterized in that the mass of a crystal water forming the baked vermiculite is 0.8 to 1.2% of the total mass. Also, the method of manufacturing the heat insulating material is characterized in that a vermiculite mineral is heated in the temperature range of 750 to 830°C for 70 sec. to 10 min.
