PURPOSE: To increase the working efficiency for correction of unbalance, by converting the degree of unbalance measured previously into the area and depth, giving the grinding in accordance with the area and depth to detect successively the grinding degree and accordingly keeping the prescribed balance.
CONSTITUTION: Both the position and degree of unbalance are previously detected for the unbalance of a rotor through a test of rotation, etc. Then the degree of unbalance is converted into the area and depth of correction at the unbalanced position to start the grinding. After this, the grinding degree is successively detected for the correction surface from a difference of level between a ground surface and a non-ground surface, and the grinding is carried out up to a degree corresponding to an obtained degree of unbalance. Thus the unbalance of a rotor is corrected. In the grinding work, the satisfactory control is given to the working depth to eliminate a prescribed degree of unbalance through the grinding and with high accuracy.
