Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To constantly and smoothly transmit a force which is transmitted to a connecting shaft from a crankshaft to a balance shaft while having the connecting shaft for transmitting the rotation of the crankshaft to the balance shaft, related to the balance shaft of an internal combustion engine.SOLUTION: There are arranged a crank shaft, a balance shaft and a connecting shaft 32 for connecting both the crankshaft and the balance shaft. The balance shaft 36 and the connecting shaft 32 are connected to each other by a BS connecting mechanism 38. The BS connecting mechanism 38 comprises: an oscillator 52 having a ball part 54 for oscillating an oscillation shaft 66 as a rotating shaft; a spherical face seat 70 for holding the ball part 54 on a ball face without hindering the oscillation of the oscillator 52; and a sleeve 60 for holding the oscillation shaft 66 without hindering the oscillation of the oscillator 52. The spherical face seat 70 is arranged at an end part of the connecting shaft 32. The sleeve 60 is attached to the balance shaft 36 so as to be displaceable in an axial direction of the balance shaft 36 while making an oscillation direction of the oscillator 52 coincide with a radial direction of the balance shaft 36.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
