Abstract:
To prevent water from being infiltrated from an outer surface of a housing through a boundary part to a ball supporting surface side by including a synthetic resin first housing part and a second housing part which is constituted of a material of higher rigidity than that of the first housing part and constitutes a peripheral wall part of an opening in the housing for reducing mold cost and securing a pull-out strength of a ball stud in a ball joint, and blocking communication of one end and the other end of the boundary part of the first and second housing parts in the boundary part even in the case where the first housing part adopts a structure in which the second housing part is injection-molded as an insert component, one end of the boundary part is communicated to a sealed space and the other end is communicated to the housing outer surface.SOLUTION: In a ball joint in which one end of a boundary part 7 mutually between first and second housing parts H1 and H2 is communicated to a sealed space and the other end is communicated to an outer surface of a housing H, seal means is provided for blocking communication between the one end and the other end in the boundary part 7 and sealing at least a portion of the boundary part in a liquid-tight manner.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
