PURPOSE: To improve the stability of a floating warehouse by preliminarily estimating the weight of a cargo to be carried into the warehouse and the position of the cargo in the warehouse, and controlling the charge and discharge of liquid to and from a ballast tank on the basis of the estimated value and the actual levelness and draft of the warehouse.
CONSTITUTION: A floating warehouse 1 such as a cold store is constituted of a float construction such as a barge suitable for being afloat at sea 2, moored with a mooring mechanism and provided with an apron at the opposite side of a quay 4 for mooing a cargo ship 5 for loading and unloading a cargo. Also, a ballast tank 6 for charging and discharging sea water is installed at the bottom of the floating warehouse 1, and divided into a plurality of ballast tanks for so controlling the warehouse 1 as to be at an even keel against an unbalanced load due to cargo loading. Furthermore, in charging and discharging sea water to and from the divided water ballast tanks, the weight of a cargo delivered to the warehouse 1 and the position thereof in the warehouse 1 are preliminarily estimated before the delivery, and the charge and discharge amount of sea water is controlled on the basis of the estimated value and the actual levelness and draft of the floating warehouse 1.
