The balloon catheter comprises a catheter tube 5 with a double-tube structure consisting of an outer shaft 3 and an inner tube 4 inserted into the outer shaft 3, and the hollow inflatable balloon portion 2 fixed to the distal end of the catheter tube 5. The balloon portion 2 can be inflated/deflated with the fluid flowing through the catheter tube 5. The balloon portion 2 is made of a material with a resin material as a base material including coiled carbon fiber in the base material.
