Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure the desired diameter and flexibility of a tubular basic body of a balloon catheter formed as thin as possible. SOLUTION: In a balloon catheter 1 comprising a tube-like basic body 2 having a distal end and a proximal end, and a balloon member 5 arranged at the distal end of the basic body, at least a portion of the tube-like basic body 2 itself is formed by light conductor. The tube-like basic body also has a light-absorbing end-section 15 at the proximal end and a light-emitting end- section 17 at the distal end respectively.
