Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a balun transformer for a power amplifier not requiring many man-hours for the manufacture of the components in comparison with the conventional structure and not requiring component mounting.
SOLUTION: An isolation transformer 23 is made up of conductor patterns 21, 22 formed on both sides of a printed circuit board 5. Furthermore, an inductor 27 is made up of conductor patterns 25, 26 connecting the conductor patterns 21, 22 to ground patterns 24 at both sides of the printed circuit board 5. Moreover, a throughhole 28 is provided to lead an output terminal of the isolation transformer of a 2nd layer to a 1st layer. Then the isolation transformer and the inductor are combined to form the balun transformer with a broad band characteristics. Furthermore, an optional output impedance is set by varying the size of each pattern on both sides of the board.
