Abstract:
PURPOSE:To reduce visual deterioration by transmitting the additional signals of specific horizontal and vertical bands after band compression so as to secure a specific vertical band in a specific horizontal band range. CONSTITUTION:The band compression is applied to the additional signal having its horizontal band of 0-fx[MHz] and vertical range of 0-525/2[cph] so that the vertical band is equal to 0-3X525/8[cph] with a horizontal band range of 0-fx/2[MHz] and to 0-525/8[cph] with a horizontal band range of fx/2-fx[MHz] respectively. Thus the quantity of information is cut down to 1/2 for the additional signal. In such a way, the band compression is carried out around a slant high-band component having a small degree of visual contribution. Therefore, the visual deterioration is reduced despite the quantity of information cut down to 1/2. Furthermore, spectrum conversion is also facilitated owing to a simple spectrum distribution.
