To provide a method of winding a belt-like article which contributes to the simplification of the structure of a winding device and can shorten the cycle time of the winding device.

This method of winding a belt-like article includes: a step of wrapping the belt-like article 15 let out from a master roll around a bobbin 17; a step of cutting off the belt-like article 15 wrapped around the bobbin 17 from the master roll 19 so that the length of the belt-like article 15 wrapped around the bobbin 17 matches the overall length of the belt-like article to be wrapped around a winding shaft 3; a step of locking the belt-like article 15 wrapped around the bobbin 17 to the winding shaft 3 of the winding device 1; and a step of wrapping the belt-like article 15 let out from the bobbin 17 around the winding shaft 5 according to the rotation of the winding shaft 5.
