To provide a band winding method capable of preventing a band from being inclined to generate a difference in winding length and preventing it from being easily curved in a certain direction due to a strain generated in the winding of the band.
The band winding method performs the winding by traversing a carrier tape 10 on a peripheral surface 2 of a winding core 1. The peripheral surface 2 is inclined in an outer radial direction as it goes from one end of the winding core 1 toward the other end direction. An inclination θ of the peripheral surface 2 is based on 0<θ≤2 arctan (thickness of the carrier tape/traversing pitch). When the carrier tape 10 is wound around the winding core 1, a winding step of overlapping a side part of the carrier tape 10 on a side part of the wound carrier tape 10 to perform overlapping winding and a step of performing the winding without overlapping the side part of the carrier tape 10 on the side part of the wound carrier tape 10 are alternately repeated.
