PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate a carrying time being wasted for determining a final line by providing a control means for detecting a final line ruled on a bankbook sucked by a carrying means, calculating the discharging amount of bankbook depending on the detected final line, and discharging the bankbook by that amount through the carrying means.
SOLUTION: A bankbook 1 is carried while being pinched by a pinch roller at a position facing a carry roller 13 on the upper surface of a carrying passage. A CPU recognizes setting of the bankbook 1 at an insertion opening by means of a bankbook sensor 14 and makes a decision whether the rear end 1b is defected or not. If it is detected, the bankbook 1 is carried in the sucking direction up to the position of a magnetic processing section 15 where the magnetic stripe 1a of the bankbook 1 faces on the traveling line 18 of a magnetic head 17. Such data as final print line or the balance read out from the magnetic stripe 1a of the bankbook 1 is displayed. Subsequently, a discharge amount for determining the final line corresponding to the data of final print line is calculated and the bankbook 1 is discharged by an amount required for visually confirming the final print line.
