Title:
BAR CODE READER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH0253191
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To scan plural lines with one time of scanning action, to read a bar code and to improve a reading rate by irradiating the printing surface of the bar code with plural spots from plural light sources.

CONSTITUTION: A spot 9 is irradiated with a light emitting element 2 and a reflected light is received by a light receiving part 5. A spot 10 is irradiated by a light emitting element 3 and a reflected light is received by a light receiving part 6. The control or drive of operation is executed by a control circuit 12 for light receiving parts 4-6. An outside case 13 of a pen scanner stores light emitting elements 1-3, the light receiving parts 4-6, a lens 7 and the control circuit 12. A cable 14 is provided to send information, which are read from the bar code, to a processor. Thus, since there are the three spots, with which the bar code is irradiated, reading can be prevented from being missed by dust or defective printing.
