PURPOSE: To provide a bar code reading handy scanner with which reading and confirmation can be efficiently performed without the danger of reading omission or double reading in the case of reading a lot of bar codes with the handy scanner.

CONSTITUTION: A holder 3, to which a seal 4 can be attachably and detachably fitted, is provided at one part of the outer periphery of a bar code reading part 2 at a main body 1 of the handy scanner with built-in light emitting body and bar code reader, and a seal impression plane 5 of the seal 4 held by the holder 3 is matched with the lower surface of the main body 1.
