PURPOSE: To prevent a bar material clamped by a spindle from deflecting when a bar material is machined, in a bar material feed device with a push bar for feeding the bar material to the spindle.

CONSTITUTION: A bar material feed device is provided with an interlock mechanism 15 to interlock a push bar 8 for pushing the rear end of a bar material 4 so that the push bar is moved together with the movement of a head stock 2 and an electromagnetic clutch 20 to release its interlock. When a spindle 3 clamps the bar material 4 and moves for machining, the push bar 8 is moved together with the head stock 2 by the interlock mechanism 15 to eliminate a pressing force by the push bar 8 on the bar material 4 and prevent the bar material 4 from deflecting. Also, when the bar material 4 is moved to the spindle 2, an interlock of the push bar 8 to the head stock 2 is released to enable independent movement.
