Abstract:
To provide a device and method for imaging a bulk sample container storing a tissue biopsy cassette, a microscope slide, other sample containers, and a tissue/sample container.SOLUTION: A device for scanning and decoding a bar-code comprises: an imager; a sample imaging area; and a processor. The imager captures an image within a selectable visual field. The sample imaging area supports a plurality of sample/tissue containers. Each sample/tissue container of the plurality of sample/tissue containers includes each bar-code. At least a portion of the plurality of sample/tissue containers is positioned within the visual field such that the respective bar-codes enter the visual field. The processor receives the captured image from the imager. The processor detects and decodes each of the bar-codes existing in the first image of the captured image. The processor defines an associated object region for each bar-code existing in the first image.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
