To prevent a stumble and a fall of a pedestrian which occur in the space between a road and rails in a crossing, and prevent an accident such as running off or pinching of a stroller, a wheelchair and a bicycle with small wheels.

When a train approaches and passes by, the space between the road and the rails is brought from a closed state to an open state, which enables the train to safely pass. After passing the train, the space between the road and the rails is closed concurrent with the opening of a crossing gate.
