Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a laminar type thermal image forming medium which offers an improved efficiency, latitude and the quality and durability of images in production, handling and use.
CONSTITUTION: This laminar type thermal image forming medium 10 includes a photosetting adhesive layer 18 contg. a photopolymerizable ethylenic unsatd. monomer and a barrier layer 17 for imparting receptivity to the diffusion of the photopolymerizable monomer to the layers exclusive of this layer of the image forming medium. The barrier layer 17 is required to execute the photosetting of the adhesive layer 18 before this time and the execution of cutting and other production work during this time is made possible. Such time is substantially prolonged. The elasticity and non-brittle characteristic of the barrier layer 17 impart the improved durability to the image formed from the laminar type thermal image forming medium 10.
