PURPOSE: To provide the subject soft base fabric having a good following prop erty with skins by integrally interlacing a fiber web containing potentially crimpable fibers with a sheetlike fiber collected product containing arranged crimped single fibers and subsequently heating the integrally interlaced webs to allow the potentially crimpable fibers to generate the three-dimensional crimps.

CONSTITUTION: Laminated fiber layers comprising a fiber web containing at least ≥50% of potentially crimpable fibers generating three-dimensional crimps on heating and a sheet-like filament web collected product constituted by arranging crimped filaments having a single fineness of 0.5-10 denier in the longitudinal direction are integrally interlaced by a needling treatment. The interlaced laminated fiber layers are subjected to a heating treatment to allow the potentially crimpable fibers to generate three dimensional crimps, thereby providing the objective cataplasm base fabric having a 50% modulus of ≤1kg/5cm in the lateral direction and a 50% elongation recovery rate of ≥40%.
