Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH11178464
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a method for growing a base Japanese cedar for an ornamental garden tree in which 20 to 25 years are conventionally required for the growth thereof in an early stage of a period of 12 to 15 years.

This base Japanese cedar for a garden tree is obtained by cutting the tips of new support germinated branches 2a, 2b, etc., within the range of the 6th to the 12th stages counted from the lowermost branch in sites at a distance of 40 to 50 cm from a trunk 1 in a Japanese cedar tree growing for 6 to 47 years and simultaneously growing the tree by restricting means for pulling the tip parts 4a and 4b of the new support germinated branches 2a and 2b in an arched form downward with ropes 3a and 3b and limiting the extent of bending so as to surely locate the tip parts of the supports 2a and 2b at horizontal positions or below the horizontal positions and a new bud early growing means for cutting leaf tips growing in only limited supports 2u, 2t,...21 in the 6th to the 15th stages counted from the upper topmost part 7 of the trunk 1 to 10 to 15 cm, growing the tree according to a method for removing all the residual supports and Japanese cedar leaves and then removing all the branched and leaves left in the trunk 1 so that the raising positions of new buds 5a and 5a' and 5b and 5b' on the new support germinated branches 2a and 2b are limited to the intermediate parts and tip parts, etc., thereof to cause the germination.
