To realize an aqueous gravure printing which is excellent in thermal dimensional stability, printability, printing effect and laminating processability.
A base material for aqueous printing is formed of a cured layer prepared by curing a composition comprising N-vinyl carboxylic acid amide and a polyfunctional compound having 2-6 radical polymerizable double bonds as essential components, wherein the content of N-vinyl carboxylic acid amide is 3-25 wt.% and the content of the polyfunctional compound having 2-6 radical polymerizable double bonds is 97-75 wt.% to the total weight of the essential components with radiation beams on a polyolefin substrate. A method for manufacturing the base material for aqueous printing comprises applying the composition on the polyolefin substrate, and then, curing the composition by irradiating it with the electron beams. An image is formed on the base material for aqueous printing by using an aqueous ink.
