Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain base paper suitable for a decorative sheet for V-cutting excellent in bending processability and printability by forming a paper stock containing a natural pulp having a length weighted mean fiber length equal to or larger than a specific value into a sheet, then impregnating the sheet with a thermoplastic resin and smoothing.
SOLUTION: A paper stock containing 25-45wt.% based on the whole fibrous material of a natural pulp having ≥2mm length weighted mean fiber length is formed into a sheet a paper machine equipped with a yankee dryer to form a machine glazing(one face glazing) base paper having ≤120g/m2 weight. Then the based paper is impregnated with an emulsion of a thermoplastic resin such as an acrylic resin, etc., and subjected to super calendar treatment to give the objective base paper for a decorative sheet.
