Abstract:
To provide a communication system that makes it possible to appropriately control the gain of a power amplifier of a wireless relay device based on the received power of a known signal by suppressing fluctuations in the received power of the known signal from a base station due to a change in the attitude of the wireless relay device when the base station uses a plurality of linearly polarized antennas for wireless communication with the wireless relay device.SOLUTION: The base station includes an antenna device having a plurality of linearly polarized antennas capable of transmitting and receiving radio waves whose angles of linear polarization planes are different from each other when performing feeder link communication between the base station and a wireless relay device and a base station processing unit or an external phase control device that controls on a predetermined time slot for transmitting to the wireless relay device a specific known signal usable for controlling the gain of a power amplifier of the wireless relay device a phase difference between a plurality of transmission signals for supplying to the plurality of linearly polarized antennas so that the composite polarization of the radio waves of the known signals transmitted from the antenna devices to the wireless relay device becomes circularly or elliptically polarized.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
