To provide a bast separation apparatus which can efficiently separate a bast from the stem of a bast plant.
The bast separation apparatus for removing a core portion from the stem 90 of the bast plant to separate the bast 92, includes a separation mechanism 20 on whose surface has a rotation roller 24 having projections 26 formed in the axial directions and in which the projections 26 of the rotation roller 24 contact the stem 90 to act a longitudinal tractive force on the stem 90, thereby separating the bast 92 from the stem 90; a conveying mechanism 40 for conveying the stem 90 in the longitudinal direction to send the stem to the separation mechanism 20; and a nipping mechanism 50 which allows to move the stem 90 in the longitudinal direction and simultaneously nips the stem 90 between the conveying mechanism 40 and the separation mechanism 20.
