Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safety bat for baseball suitable for use in softball, etc., and provide a process for production suitable for production of the same.
SOLUTION: A long-sized metallic pipe material is cut to a required length to obtain a core material 2. A grip part 3 is set at its one end side and a grip end member 6 formed as a separated body is mounted at the end of this grip part 3 and is integrated to the core material 2. The overall length of the core material 2 exclusive of the grip part 3 is inserted along the center of metal molds and is fixed to the metal molds, following which an expandable stock solution of urethane, etc. is poured into the metal molds and is expanded and solidified, by which the peripheral surface of the core material 2 is integrally coated and formed with an elastic impact part 4 having a required thickness.
