To provide a bat for cooking having discrimination for the purpose of positively preventing the indiscriminate use of the bat for dividing food, used in a kitchen for business use and regarded as the main cause of food poisoning.

Grip plates 2, 2 are installed at both lateral side face parts of a bat body 1, and optional colored plates 6, 6 are stuck to horizontal face parts 5, 5 of the grip plates. A large number of bats comprising the thus constituted grip parts of different colors are prepared. Further, vertical face parts 3, 3 of the grip plates are stuck (4, 4) to the side face parts of the bat body by welding.
