Abstract:

PURPOSE: To calculate the real value of unevenness on a work surface from a two-dimensional gray level image information obtained by a CCD camera.
CONSTITUTION: Light from a light source 34 is reflected on the surface of a work 32 and made incident on a CCD camera 36. An image processing unit 38 inputs gray level images from the CCD camera 36, extracts one prescribed picture element sequence in an image corresponding to a prescribed measuring line on the work 32 and calculates the average value of pixel data in one sequence. Difference between the pixel data and the average value in one sequence is cumulatively added from one sequence of the light source 34 to a prescribed picture element position, and the height information of the prescribed picture element position is obtained. By multiplying a transformation coefficient depending on the reflection factor or the like of the work 32 to this height information, a real dimensional value is obtained. Thus, the real dimensional value of unevenness can be obtained, and the surface can be easily inspected.
