Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable suppression of current consumption of a cell by wire breaking diagnosis processing.SOLUTION: A monitoring device for a battery pack has a discharge circuit containing plural switches which are connected to respective cells through electrical wires in parallel, a voltage detection circuit for detecting the voltage of each cell through the electrical wire, and a controller. The controller determines whether the open voltage of at least one cell which is detected by the voltage detection circuit when the plural switches are in an open state satisfies a diagnosis condition containing at least one of a condition that the open voltage of at least one cell is not less than a predetermined first threshold value and a condition that the open voltage of at least one cell is not more than a second threshold value which is smaller than the first threshold value, sets at least one switch from an open state to a close state to diagnose the presence or absence of wire breaking of an electrical wire when the diagnosis condition is determined to be satisfied, and maintains the plural switches in the open state while the presence or absence of electrical wire breaking is not diagnosed when the diagnosis condition is not determined to be satisfied.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
