Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery system capable of appropriately determining that connections of battery cells with each other are severed, and capable of suppressing the occurrence of a secondary fault in a voltage detection circuit and a battery pack.SOLUTION: The present invention is a battery system 10 comprising: a battery pack 11 composed of a plurality of series-connected battery cells C; voltage detection lines L1-Ln+1 connected to the battery cells C; a cell voltage detection circuit 30 for detecting each of the output voltages of the battery cells C; and a total voltage sensor 40 for detecting a total battery voltage. Further, when connections of battery cells C with each other are severed, a controller 20 determines, on the basis of the total battery voltage detected by the total voltage sensor 40, that a bypass current has flowed in the cell voltage detection circuit 30 by detouring the severed portion of the connection. When it is determined that the bypass current has flowed, the controller 20 causes charging/discharging of the battery pack 11 to stop.
