Title:
BATTERY WITH SOLID ELECTROLYTE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5553875
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To achieve higher discharge voltage and higher available current, by superposing a positive electrode and a negative electrode, and winding them into a spiral form, wherein said positive electrode is made flexible through adding a predetermined high molecular compound to iodine and phenothiazine.

CONSTITUTION: A positive electrode 1 and a negative electrode 3 are superposed and wound about a positive electrode lead 2, wherein said positive electrode 1 consists of iodine, phenothiazine, and poly-2-vinylpyridine which is a high molecular compound capable of forming a charge-transfer complex with iodine, and said negative electrode 3 consists of lithium. These wound electrodes are received in a cylindrical case and covered with a cover to obtain the battery of the invention. In this construction, the positive electrode can be made flexible so that it can easily formed into a band shape, and wound into a spiral form.
