Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide the bearing device of an electric motor, which can be made smaller in size without lowering the loading capacities of thrust load and radial load as an output shaft is miniaturized, and is excellent in operating reliability.
CONSTITUTION: This bearing device 28 is made up of a bearing case 42 fixed in a circular recessed section 26 which is provided for the output shaft run-out hole 24 of the front housing 20 of an electric motor, and of a cylindrical roller bearing 44 and a deep groove ball bearing 46 which are housed in the bearing case 42. The bearing case 42 includes both an outer cylinder 48 coming in contact with the inner surface of the recessed section 26 and a bottom section 52 in a ring plate shape which is extended in the radial and inward direction from one end of the outer cylinder 48 wherein an insertion hole 50 is formed at its center section and an output shaft goes through the insertion hole in non-contact relation. The cylindrical roller bearing 44 is housed in the bearing case 42 while being adjacent to the bottom section 52 of the bearing case 42. The deep groove bearing 46 is housed in the bearing case 42 while the outer race of the cylindrical roller bearing 44 is being held in a place interspaced with the bottom section 52 of the bearing case 42.
