Abstract:

To obtain the abrasion free seal mechanism of a liquid lubricating type bearing device for the printing cylinder of a rotary press by arranging the end surface of a conduit supplying a lubricant to the bearing device of the printing cylinder of the rotary press so as to directly reach the tumbling element of the bearing in the gap between both tumbling surfaces of the bearing of the printing cylinder.

A lubricant such as lubricating oil is supplied to an oil injection pipe 38 through a supply conduit 37 and directly introduced into a cylindrical roll bearing 4 while controlled in its quantity. The lubricant is equally distributed to the interior of the cylindrical roll bearing 4 and the peripheral surface of a journal by the rotary motion and shaking motion of the journal 3 of an ink distributing roller 2. The lubricant reaches the region of a partition wall 8 functioning of a gap packing only in extremely slight quantity by the lubrication of the min. quantity and, by the centrifugal force generated by the oil scraping ring 27 rotated at a high speed together with the ink distributing roller 2, the lubricant is fed to the edge part of the oil scraping ring 27.
