Title:
BELLOWS FOR CONNECTING HOSES OR APPARATUS FOR USE IN VACUUM
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3529877
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To manufacture a bellows for connecting large diameter hoses used in a vacuum by including toric reinforcing rings on the inside and outside of crests of corrugation, and adjusting the length of the rings so as to be adaptable to the deformation of corrugation in service.
CONSTITUTION: Toric reinforcing rings 5 made of stainless steel are arranged in contact with the inside of crests of a corrugated tube 1, and toric reinforcing rings 4 are arranged in the same way on the outside of the corrugated tube 1. The length of the rings 4, 5 are adjusted so as to be adaptable to the deformation of corrugation when using the corrugated tube 1. In the case of a diameter being large, it is resisted with a vacuum of about 2 Torr and at 180°C. The length of a PTFE belows wall in the same in the case of being used under pressure, and an appropriate longitudinal gap and lateral gap can be maintained. Safety is therefore guaranteed having the same flexibility and the same longitudinal gap and lateral gap as the bellows used under normal pressure and resisting corrosion caused by a fluid during transportation.
