Title:
BELT FOR CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3912150
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a belt for a continuously variable transmission capable of reducing local abrasion of a ring by restraining face pressure acting on an inner peripheral face of the ring from becoming high locally.
SOLUTION: This belt 20 for a continuously variable transmission has an endless ring 30 functioning as a belt body, and a plurality of plate-like elements 40, around which the ring is wound. The elements are formed with a saddle face 45 forming a contact face to a ring inner peripheral face 33, a clearance groove 47 releasing the periphery of one peripheral edge 32 of the ring from the saddle face, and a round part 48 connecting the saddle face with the clearance groove. The saddle face is crowned so that a general center portion in a width direction along a segment connecting both ends of the ring is swollen on a horizontal cross section of the ring so as to form a top Ps. Curvature radius from the top of crowing to a starting point Q on the saddle face side of the round part is changed in a manner to decrease towards the starting point Q on the saddle face side.
