PURPOSE: To make load of a belt uniform by connecting a drive shaft of a pair of wheels on which a belt is wound by a rotatably fixed cardan connecting part in a belt conveyor for a cigarette packaging machine.

CONSTITUTION: A belt 1 on which a plurality of cells are arranged are mounted on two conveyor wheels 2, 3. The conveyor wheel 2 is directly driven by a drive shaft 4 mounted on a gear case 5 and the drive shaft 4 revolves a shaft 8 via bevel gears 6, 7. The shaft 8 is connected with a cardan shaft 10 parallel to a belt conveyor vertical axis via a sleeve 9. The cardan shaft 10 is connected with a shaft 11 by the sleeve 9 and interlocks with the conveyor wheel 3 via bevel gears 12, 14 and a drive shaft 15. By this constitution, load applied to both of the wheels 2, 3 is canceled each other and load of the whole of the belt 1 becomes uniform.
