PURPOSE: To obtain an attractive product, by bending a long-sized material locally, and setting its joint part to a continuous and smooth curve by utilizing, for instance, elasticity of a hard rubber roll.

CONSTITUTION: A bending die 3 is placed against the lower part of a local bend- working part of a long and thin plate 15, the end part of the thin plate 15 is pressed by a clamp 5 by use of a pressing cylinder 6, and from the upper part, a hard rubber roll 4 is rolled at a right angle with the longitudinal direction, pressing the thin plate 15, and it is bend-worked locally. Subsequently, a dolly 13 is made to run along a rail 12 by rotation of a dolly driving screw 10 by a motor 11, the thin plate 15 and the bending die 3 are moved relatively by a necessary extent in the advancing direction of the roll 4, and the local bend- working is repeated again.
