Abstract:
NEW MATERIAL:Benzophenone derivatives of formula I (M is alkali metal, ammonium ion; n is 1W16).
EXAMPLE: Sodium 6-(p-beonzoylphenoxy)hexane-1-sulfonate.
USE: Photochemical sensitizer, they are used for photosensitive composition, especially as printing plate.
PREPARATION: The condensation reaction of phenol and benzotrichloride is conducted in the presence of aluminum trichloride catalyst and the product is hydrolyzed to form p-benzoylphenol. The compound is made to react with a dibromoalkane of formula II to give a bromoalkoxybenzophenone of formula III. Finally the compound of formula III is made to react with an alkali metal sulfite of M2SO3 to produce the objective compound of formula I.
