Abstract:
To provide a novel polymer compound which absorbs light in whole ultraviolet region, an aqueous solution of which is not a strong acid while the polymer exhibits high solubility in hydrophilic cosmetic base materials and organic materials, and which does undergo hydrolysis.SOLUTION: A benzotriazole-based polymer comprises: a constitutional unit of a benzotriazole derivative compound of the general formula (1); and a constitutional unit of the general formula (2). [In the formulas, m and n are each an integer equal to or greater than 2; R1 is a hydrogen atom, a C1-8 alkyl group, a phenyl group, a tolyl group, a formyl group, a C1-7 alkylcarbonyl group, a benzoyl group, or a toluoyl group; R2 is a C1-8 alkylene group; and R3 is a hydrogen atom or a methyl group.]SELECTED DRAWING: None
