Abstract:
NEW MATERIAL:A compound of formula I (X, Y are H, halogen or lower alkyl).
EXAMPLE: N-(α,α-Dimethyl-3-chloro)benzyl-N'-phenylamidine.
USE: An antimicrobial agent for agriculture and horticulture.
PREPARATION: An N-benzylformamide derivative of formula II is dehydrationcondensed with an aniline derivative of formula III in the presence of oxyphosphorus trichloride in a solvent at room temperature to the boiling point of the solvent to obtain the compound of formula I. The solvent includes toluene, chloroform and THF.
