Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain the subject derivative expressed by a specific formula, having strong proliferation inhibiting action against bacteria in nitro and exhibiting strong adhesion-inhibiting activity also against oceanic attached organism and useful as an antimicrobial agent, antifouling agent, etc.
CONSTITUTION: This derivative is expressed by the formula (R1 and R3 are each a halogen or nitro; R2 and R4 are each a halogen, nitro or H), e.g. N,N- dichloro 2-(4-nitrophenyl)ethylamine, etc. Furthermore, the derivative is preferably obtained by treating, e.g. β-phenylethylamine with tert-butyl hypochlorite and further treating the resultant N,N-dichloro substance with fuming nitric acid and acetic anhydride.
