Abstract:
PURPOSE:To enable a fatigue life of a tire to be improved, the tire to be extremely lightweight, and also enable fuel consumption to be saved by using as a carcass ply a 66 nylon cord, to which the specific strength is provided by intertwining the 66 nylon original yarn filament that is spinned in advance while it is highly stretched. CONSTITUTION:A carcass cord used for a carcass ply for a pneumatic bias tire of heavy duty vehicles is formed by intertwining a 66 nylon original yarn filament which is spinned in advance while it is highly stretched. In this case, the twisting coefficient of the carcass cord is represented by NT[=NX(0.139XD /rho)<1/2>X10<-3>]. Here, N represents the number of twist per 10cm, D represents 1/2Xtotal deniel, and rho represents the specific gravity of the cord. And the 66 nylon cord, the data of which satisfy the requirement of (epsilonXTs<=180.23 N<2>T-51.08NT+32.843), should be used for the carcass. Here, the data is meant by the product of the twisting coefficient NT, a rate of elongation epsilon for a load of 2.68g/d, and a rate of thermal contraction Ts at the temperature of 177 deg.C when the cord is thermally contracted in a constant temperature bath for 30min under a load of 0.0198g/d.
