Abstract:
PURPOSE: To attain light weight and improve cut resistance and puncture resistance by forming plural impact resistant protruding parts over the whole peripheral surface of an open side part.
CONSTITUTION: Impact resistant protruding parts 6 are formed on the surface of the open side part 5 of a carcass part 2 formed of woven fabric in a single layer and coated with compounded rubber with a desirable adhesive property and little heat build-up. The impact resistant protruding parts 6 are 0.1-1.5mm in height and occupy the area of 20-90% of the whole surface area of the open side part 5 so as to be able to resist impact to the open side part during travel while suppressing the weight increase of the carcass part 2 itself. The cut resistance and puncture resistance of the tire 1 can be thereby improved, which results in prolonging a service life.
