Abstract:
PURPOSE:To attempt improvement is sucking performance of bilge water by providing a suction pump which is operated by both a jet and water flow around the outer surface of a boat and the like when a water jet unit is driven. CONSTITUTION:During sailing with a water jet unit 13 driven, a part of the jet is separated from the propulsion jet, passing through a water passageway 31 of a pump 20 for producing negative pressure by a venturi section 32 so as to exert a sucking action on a scupper pipe 34. And water flow along the outer surface of a hull 11 is generated at the outlet portion of the water passageway 31 for producing negative pressure so as to exert a sucking action on the scupper pipe 34. Accordingly, the suction pump 29 sucks up bilge water in an inboard bilge section 35 through the scupper pipe 34 by means of two sucking actions for discharging it out of a boat from the water passageway 31. Owing to this constitution, bilge water sucking performance is improved, and furthermore the completion of discharging bilge water can be affirmed by the exhaust of air.
