Title:
BIMETAL TEMPERATURE SWITCH
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH03192628
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a thermal switch allowing temperature to be set at a level equal to or above 600 degrees Fahrenheit, and accurately operating even after repeated exposure to extremely high or low temperature. CONSTITUTION: An engaged shell 70 is tightened to the recess 62 of a probe 60, thereby fixing the bottom of a bimetal element 50 to the bottom of the recess 62. As a result, the temperature of the bimetal element 50 becomes equal to the temperature of the probe 60, due to tight contact between the two bottoms. Also, a switch contact part 73 projected into space formed out of the shell 70 and the recess 62 is electrically insulated from the rest of the coupled shell 70 via an insulator 72. According to this construction, the bimetal element 50 can be raised at any desired temperature level, due to the structure thereof, and temperature can be set at a level equal to or above 600 degrees Fahrenheit. Furthermore, a switch so formed can accurately operate even after repeated exposure to extremely high or low temperature.
