Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a binder for coextrusion, hardly having a non-meltable region and useful for producing packaging materials, etc., by grafting an unsaturated carboxylic acid, etc., to the mixture of a specific ethylenic copolymer with an elastomer.
SOLUTION: This binder is produced by grafting an unsaturated carboxylic acid (functional derivative) such as acrylic acid to the mixture of (A) one or more kinds of polymers each having a MI2/[η]-8.77 ratio (absolute value) of ≥15 and containing ethylene in an amount of ≥75mol.%, such as the copolymer of ethylene with a LDPE or VLDPE type α-olefin, with(B) a polymer having a MI2/[η]-8.77 ratio of ≥15, selected from (i) a polymer containing ethylene in an amount of 50% and(ii) a styrene block copolymer, such as ethylene/ propylene elastomer, and if necessary, subsequently diluting the grafted copolymer with (C) a polymer selected from (iii) ethylene homopolymer and (iv) a styrene block copolymer.
