Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a binder composition which never mars a function as a nonaqueous electrolyte battery electrode binder, i.e. a binding ability among active materials and with a collector electrode, and the toughness as an electrode, and which is superior in battery characteristics in a nonaqueous electrolyte battery.SOLUTION: A binder composition for a nonaqueous electrolyte battery electrode, comprises hydrogel consisting of a water-soluble polymer. In regard to the relaxation time of water according to pulse NMR when the binder composition has a solid content concentration 5.5 wt.%, the confined-water relaxation time τis 20 msec or longer, and the free-water relaxation time τis 300 msec or longer.SELECTED DRAWING: None
