To obtain a new compound having strong antibacterial activity against a bacterium belonging to genus Helicobacter, especially Helicobacter pyrroli with a single agent and exhibiting clinically excellent prophylactic treatment effect with slight side effect and useful as a medicine.
This compound is expressed by the formula {R is a (substituted) amino, e.g. amino, acylamino, etc.}. A compound having an amino group in which R is substituted with an acyl group in the formula is obtained by reacting, e.g. a compound having R of amino group in the formula with 0.5-10 mol equivalent of a carboxylic acid or its reactive derivative in aromatic hydrocarbons, halogenated hydrocarbons, saturated hydrocarbons, ethers, nitriles, sulfoxides, acid amides, esters, etc., or water as a solvent at from -80°C to 100°C for 1-96 hrs, preferably at from -50°C to 50°C for 1-72 hrs.
