Abstract:
NEW MATERIAL: A compound of formula I [R is substituted phenyl; X is cyano, -COOH or the salt, ester or amide derivative of the same], and N-oxide of the same.
EXAMPLE: [4-(N-phenylamido)phenyl] -ONN-azoxycyanide.
USE: Mildewproof agent, nematicide.
PROCESS: A compound of formula II is reacted with cyanide to obtain N-oxide of formula I, and a compound of formula I is obtained therefrom. The reaction is preferably performed in the presence of hydrocarbon halide (for example; chloroform) at -20 to 50°C, preferably at an ambient temperature.
